The Chickasha Public Library will host Let’s Talk About It, a project of the Oklahoma Humanities that will take place on the first Thursday of each month from August until December. This is a book discussion series designed for adults 18 and older who are interested in reading, learning, and discussing their thoughts and ideas with others. The topic of this program is Civil Rights and Equality: A Pulitzer Prize Centennial Series, and each month will focus on a different book that explores that theme.

According to the Oklahoma Humanities website, “The five Pulitzer Prize-nominated or -winning books in this series all work toward that same goal: trying to better help us understand our American context and our own unrealized ideals by immersing us in specific historic or contemporary moments, with
fully realized individuals experiencing inequality.” The order of the books was chosen because each builds upon literary themes from the previous books, leading to a meaningful conclusion.

Each monthly program will feature a presentation by a scholar focusing on a specific book, as well as a small group discussion where participants will be able to discuss that book with others. All programs will be held from 6:30-8:30 at the Chickasha Public Library, located at 527 Iowa.
