Library Walking Challenge

Chickasha Public Library Kicks off their second walking challenge
Have you joined the Chickasha Public Library's Walking Challenge? As a community lets walk the number of steps it takes to walk around the Earth 49,802,000! Explore the Health Literacy tab for more information.
The bar above shows how many steps the community as taken so far.

The Walking Challenge Chapter 2 kicks off January 1st. You can register in person at the library, located at 527 W. Iowa Ave, over the phone by calling 405-222-6075, or online by using the link below. Pedometers are available when you register, or you can use your own devices or applications to track your steps. We did not reach our walking challenge goal last year as a collective community, participants walked enough steps to reach Ireland, more than enough steps to get to Hawaii, and almost twice the length of the Appalachian Trail!

We are rechallenging the community to walk the distance around the world! Let's track our steps and collectively walk 49,802,000 steps. Individuals will set goals to increase their steps each month.

Can you walk farther than the library staff? We ask that participants submit their steps monthly. Each month participants who have reported their steps will be added to a drawing.

The walking challenge is a fun way to increase your daily activity. You can take a walk around a park, walk on your treadmill, or walk around your home. Every step counts!

"The Chickasha Public Library's Walking Challenge program and other Health Literacy programs are funded through the Oklahoma Department of Libraries with a federal grant from the Institute of Museum and Library Services."
