Who can participate in the Children's Summer Reading Program?

Everyone who loves Reading!

Program times and ages:

Lil' Camper's

  • Ages 3 and under
  • Wednesdays at 10 a.m. (ages 0-3)

Campfire Tales

  • Ages 4 & up; and families of all ages.
  • Wednesdays at 2 p.m.

Happy Campers

  • Ages 6-11
  • Thursdays at 10 a.m. and/or 2 p.m.

Camp Chickasha Teens

  • Ages 12-17
  • Tuesdays at 2 p.m.

Our Summer Reading program is geared toward youth ages 0-17.  All Chickasha Public Library programs are free and open to the public. Youth ages 4 and older can sign up for a library card.( guardian needed to sign up; must have a grady county addree for a free card) There will be different programs each week for all ages. Children do not have to have a library card or attend every program to participate in the Summer Reading program. (Adults must accompany children ages nine and younger.) There are also Take & Make crafts and a scavenger hunt available daily.

Children will use Beanstack or a paper log to track reading minutes. Reading Logs can be picked up at the Chickasha Public Library, located at 527 W. Iowa Ave. Chickasha, OK 73018.

Incentives will be awarded at different levels throughout the Summer Reading challenge.

Camp Chickasha Library Summer Reading Kick-off "Welcome Camper's" will be held Thursday, May 23 at Centennial Park from 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

 

How to Participate in Summer Reading

There are many ways to participate in the Library's Summer Reading program!

• Register by visiting Beanstack or by visiting the library, located at located at 527 W Iowa Ave.
• Read, track your minutes, and earn incentives!
• Pick up weekly take and make activities!
• Check out the Library's event calendar. This contains information on all of the library's summer programs and events.
