March 2021 Newsletter
Hello Library Patrons,
Have you done a lot of reading recently? Staying home, staying warm, is a good time to read. We're getting used to our new library management system and finding lots of options to enjoy such as Watch Lists. Here are just a few things I wanted to mention:
- When you log into your account through the library's website https://chickashaplok.booksys.net/opac/cpl/index.html?mode=main#menuHome click on the "Interests" tab and click "My Watch Lists". You can add the name of authors whom you like. When you do that and the library adds a new book by that author your name will be automatically put on the waiting list. You will then be informed when it is your turn for that book. Give it a try and enjoy.
- Ancestry.com is still available remotely. It is located in the links tab when you log on to your account.
- To receive texts you may select that option for various communications.
Take a look at your online library account and see what you can do. If you've never used the online catalog before here is a short tutorial video on how to navigate the library collection online.
Come and Go In-Person
I want to thank everyone for their cooperation during the pandemic. We've done our best to provide services curbside in order to keep patrons and staff safe and keep the coronavirus from spreading and now the numbers are heading down finally. Therefore the library will open to limited in-person services on March 1st. That means that you can come in without an appointment but we will limit the number of patrons in the building to 10 and therefore ask everyone to keep their visit short so we can get as many people in as want in. A Come and Go model so to speak. Absolutely everyone will continue to be required to wear a face mask over their mouth and nose the entire time they are in the library. I realize some people have received their vaccine however we will continue to require masks to be worn by everyone. Let's keep the numbers trending down and get past this virus completely.
Sincerely,
Lillie Huckaby
Library Director
