The Chickasha Public Library maintains a genealogy and local history collection that includes print books, microfilm, and digitized items. Items within the genealogy collection are reference material and can not be checked out; however, information can be copied for 15 cents per page or scanned at no cost. Staff can assist you with finding the resources located behind the desk.
Genealogy print material specifically about Chickasha and Grady County includes Chickasha city directories, yearbooks from Chickasha High School, family histories, organizational histories, obituaries, and personal recollections. There is also a section with books about Oklahoma, as well as some from other US states.
Chickasha newspapers have been digitized through an Oklahoma Heritage Preservation Grant from the Oklahoma Historical Society, with a contribution by the Friends of the Library.
