Chickasha Festival of Freedom

The Chickasha Public Library held 17 total events between Memorial Day and Independence Day 2026 as part of Chickasha's Festival of Freedom. There were six Patriotic Book Club discussions led by different speakers, eight Colonial Crafting events, the Living Library: America Through the Decades, Whispers from the Past: American Ghost Stories, and American history trivia.

In addition, there were USA-themed Beanstack reading challenges for all ages, and 118 children and 49 adults participated in those.

In all, 571 total participants read about and discussed a variety of topics related to early American history, attended free craft programs that included basket weaving, candle making, homemade tamales, ice cream, and sugar scrubs, participated in Revolutionary War trivia, listened to ghost stories, and learned about famous Americans from various decades.
